Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology released the "Announcement on the Seventh Batch of National Science and Technology-Based SMEs in 2023." Da'ao Research Institute, leveraging its strengths in scientific research and technological capabilities and innovative R&D, was selected for this batch of national-level science and technology-based SMEs, earning the honorary title of "National Science and Technology-Based SME." A "Science and Technology-Based SME" refers to a small and medium-sized enterprise that relies on a certain number of scientific and technological personnel to engage in scientific and technological research and development activities, obtains independent intellectual property rights, and transforms them into high-tech products or services, thereby achieving sustainable development. Its evaluation indicators specifically include three categories: research personnel, R&D investment, and scientific and technological achievements.

This award as a "Science and Technology-Based SME" is a recognition and affirmation of the company's technological content, innovation capabilities, and development potential. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong, Da'ao Biotechnology is a high-tech enterprise integrating scientific research, production, and sales across the entire industry chain. It has successively passed ISO9001, GMPC, and ISO14001 system certifications, and has obtained international ISO22716 EU certification and US FDA certification.
In 2021, the Da'ao Beauty (Qingyuan) Industrial Park officially commenced operation. As a comprehensive production center and innovation base, it possesses a complete set of internationally leading intelligent supporting equipment for emulsification and filling, and has introduced advanced foreign production equipment and data management systems. In the future, it will continuously promote automated and intelligent production upgrades, aiming to build a high-tech, intelligent, and digitally advanced beauty production base with international competitiveness and sustainable development capabilities.
Da'ao has always focused on R&D as its core, possessing a professional R&D and testing laboratory, and is committed to technological innovation and product development. Led by Dr. Tang Hesheng from RMIT University, Australia, as Chief R&D Engineer, the team has successfully overcome several internationally leading core technologies in the cosmetics industry, including HO2 supercritical extraction, bio-fermentation, microcapsule nano-encapsulation and penetration, six-functional small molecule water technology, and liquid crystal microemulsion technology.
Diao has established joint laboratories with five domestic universities, including Guangdong Pharmaceutical University and South China University of Technology, and jointly established the "Diao Research Station" with the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. We will continue to promote industry-academia-research exchange and cooperation, promptly acquire the latest scientific research results and cutting-edge technologies, continuously strengthen our own scientific research strength and innovation capabilities, actively explore more advanced technologies and ingredients, and improve the technological content and competitiveness of our products.
